DESCRIPTION:Join the Kansas Buffalo Association at the Salina Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Company for its 30th Annual Fall Buffalo Auction. Please join us December 7th\, 2019 at the Farmers and Ranchers complex for the 30th Annual Kansas Buffalo Association’s Fall Sale. The sale barn is located at 1500 Old U.S. 40\, Salina\, KS. \nBuyers need to bring a letter of credit as the Sale barn is now handling the payment. For credit questions contact the sale barn at 785-825-0211. For all other questions contact Dick Gehring at 620-345-6526. \n-Unloading begins at noon Friday\, Dec. 6th\n-Join us for a buyers’ reception from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday\, in the Farmers & Ranchers Cafe right at the stockyards.\n-Animals must be unloaded by 8 p.m. Friday to be judged in the Show for Best of Class.\n-The auction begins at 11 a.m. Saturday. \nTo buy animals\, you must pay with cash or personal business check accompanied by an authorization letter from the issuing bank. NO EXCEPTIONS! \nIf you are planning to bid on animals by internet\, there has been a change since last year. To bid online\, you will need to go on to www.cattleusa.com and register. If you are new to this website\, you will need to create and user name and password. Then\, scroll through all of the sale barns until you get to Farmers and Ranchers Salina\, then apply to bid. DESCRIPTION:Each November Custer State Park conducts a buffalo auction to keep herd numbers in check with the available rangeland forage. Between 250 and 400 buffalo and a few burros are sold at this auction. Buyers and the public are invited to view the auction. Info: (605) 255-4515 or website. Funds generated from the sale help support the operation of the state park system. The sale has played an important role in establishing herds of buffalo throughout the United States. Buffalo\, which once faced extinction\, now the number reaches over 250\,000.
